Videl is the daughter of Mr. Satan, a.k.a. Hercule in the FUNimation dub. She is exceptionally strong for her age and for a Human, seemingly surpassing her father in strength. A tough, smart, tomboyish character, Videl serves as protector of Satan City (Herculopolis) when we first see her in the series. Gohan becomes a part of her class when he enters high school. Gradually Videl becomes attracted to him, especially after she finds out that he is the alter-ego Great Saiyaman. She forces Gohan to teach her how to fly and into entering the 25th Tenka'ichi Budokai or she will reveal his secret to the world. During the tournament, she faces Spoppovitch, a normal human Mr. Satan defeated in the tournament prior, now under the control of an evil wizard named Babidi. Spoppovitch nearly kills her, but his partner, Yamu tells him to spare her. She is later given a Senzu Bean by Gohan, making a full recovery. Later on in the series, she learns that Gohan is the one who defeated Cell, not her father in the Cell Games.
